BACKGROUND:

Jimmy Gómez always wanted to do something related to coffee in his life. He was born and raised in Nariño, a region known for its unique and delicious coffee. For this reason, he studied Business Management for Coffee Companies. In this process, learning everything about owning and managing a coffee business and producing coee, Jimmy also learned how to roast, cup coffee and he was educated on the best processing practices on coffee farms. Jimmy has been a coffee producer for more than 20 years and he has been able to implement everything he has learned throughout his life and studies, on the farm. He hasn’t only improved his processes, but he has standardized them and find out what works and what doesn’t. By learning how to cup, Jimmy was encouraged to cup his own coffees and identify what were his improvement
opportunities to produce a better quality.

He started producing specialty coffee in around 2012, when he was searching for other opportunities to achieve better incomes and find economic stability. Jimmy feels proud of the quality he has been able to produce, but most importantly, he feels proud because he is aware that everything that he has learned about coffee production and processes, has taken him where he is today, because he knows what he’s doing and he understands every single step of the process. His goal is achieving that 100% of his coffee is sold as specialty.
