Nelson Ramirez bought this farm in 2009 on the same day his second son was born and named it after his grandmother. The farm is located on the famous Santa Barbara Mountain in the Montecillos region, which has a reputation of its own for its very special microclimate. High altitude, cold nights, volcanic soil and high humidity produced by the nearby lake, Yojoa provide exceptional growing conditions for coffee. Very often coffees from this mountain will show sparkly citrus, blackcurrant and very complex qualities.

Nelson is currently building solar dryers and plans to ferment 100% of his washed lots. He is also designing a whole tracking system to keep record of what happens to each lot from the date coffee gets picked until coffee gets finally roasted and cupped.

Finca Cheli finished 4th with an incredible score of 90.2points at Honduras late Harvest auction in July 2016. The action outcome was just extra incentive for Nelson to keep pushing the quality even higher. His plans for 2017 includes a system for tracking the entire process of each lot from the moment of picking to the final cupping experience and controlled fermentation of washed lots.
