Coffee is getting more expensive, and here's why
As you are no doubt aware, significant cost increases are occurring right across the economy. From November 2020 to today, coffee prices have close to doubled. This price rise is something we have never seen before. Due to droughts and severe frost damage destroying crops in Brazil, floods/hurricanes in Central America last year destroying farms, Civil war in Ethiopia, covid hitting all countries especially third world countries and shipping prices up 500%, it looks like coffee prices will continue to go up. Did we mention petrol prices and supply chain disturbances also?
We simply do not want to purchase subpar coffee and compromise the quality over costing factors, as quality is the foremost import value alongside our customer satisfaction. Our standards will always be set high at producing the best roasted coffee we can.
We knew this day was coming and we've been absorbing a lot of the costs with inflation over the last year. This is why from 15th July 2022 that we will have to adjust our coffee pricing. That said, even with the adjustment we will not be shifting our margin by any means, in fact profit will be less than pre covid. We want to be transparent and we are in this with you.
Love,
Symmetry Team.
